Senator Shehu Sani has said his colleague, Dino Melaye, was not one of the senators who jeered President Muhammadu Buhari

– Sani said Melaye was not even present at the Senate the day President Buhari presented the budget

Senator Shehu Sani has said contrary to popular belief that Senator Dino Melaye was one of the senators who booed President Muhammadu Buhari during the budget presentation, the Kogi senator was absent from the Senate on that day.

Sani, in a tweet, on Sunday, January 6, said Melaye, who represents Kogi west Senatorial district, was absent from the Senate on the day President Buhari was jeered by senators of the opposition party

Senator Dino was not present on the day the President presented the budget to the Joint parliamentary session.

According to earlier report, SenatorMelaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) denied being part of the unruly federal lawmakers who jeered and booed President Muhammadu Buhari during the presentation of the 2019 budget before a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday, December 19, 2018.

Melaye, who represents Kogi West Senatorial District said he could not have been part of the jeering since he was around the vicinity of the House of Representatives chamber on that day.

Senator Melaye, who is reacting to the allegations which have taken over the social media for the first in almost three weeks, described as lies rumours tying him to the matter.
