GROUP HAILS OTU ON SOLEMN ASSEMBLY
Last week’s Solemn Assembly held at the instance of the first family of Cross River State has been hailed as a turning point in the spiritual life of Cross River State.
Neighbourhood Coalition, a support group of the All Progressives Congress rose from a breakfast meeting Tuesday with a path on the back of the State Governor, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu and the First Lady of the state, Rev. Mrs Eyoanwan Otu.
According to the burgeoning support group whose statement on the development was delivered via a WhatsApp message from its National Coordinator, Hon. Emmanuel Enang, the Solemn Assembly brought spiritual refreshing in the personal lives of individuals and will soon translate to the collective spiritual benefit for state.
The group maintained that the move of God was very conspicuous especially as the prayers and intercessions were made.
Enang also said the event reminds of the dedication of the temple which was significantly a turning point among the Isrealites as God Himself descended to take control and charge over the arena and the dedication.
Stating that a replica of the Temple Dedication was the case with the Solemn Assembly, the Organisation furthers that God had intervened in the affairs of the state.
“God would have descended over the affairs of the State with the many intercessory prayers that were offered and the admonitions and blessings from the scriptures. Sen. Otu and his dear wife, stood as the Solomon of the state, to ensure that God came down and reign in His glory in the land of Cross River.”.
It expresses the confidence that the event will soon have a multiplier effect in the governance of the state and bring restoration in the land.
“What we expect to see of the Solemn Assembly in the shortest possible time, is how the admonitions on unity, love and peace can be absorbed in human interactions and endeavours with a view to ensuring, genuine repentance, healing of the land and the attendant restoration of God’s glory,” the statement maintained.
Governor Otu had announced that the Solemn Assembly will be woven into the Calendar of events in the state and will be organised quarterly.
Bible readings were taken by the Governor, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, and the State Chief Judge to represent the three Arms of Government even as prayers were offered differently for the different Arms and for the other aspects of the state’s polity.
